In Scullard v (1) Knowles and (2) Southern Regional Council for Education and Training (29 February 1996), the EAT holds that Article 119 of the EC Treaty allows equal pay comparisons between those employed in the "same service" and does not restrict comparators to those in the "same employment", as defined in s.1 (6) of the Equal Pay Act 1970.

The issues
