Ministry of Defence v Cannock and others [1994] IRLR 509 EAT (1 other report)
The EAT's judgment in Ministry of Defence v Cannock and others contains several points of general importance on the calculation of compensation for discrimination, notably the approach to be taken to the assessment of future loss of earnings. The EAT also gives guidance on how industrial tribunals should calculate compensation for the discriminatory dismissals arising from the Ministry of Defence's policy, now abandoned, to require women to leave the armed forces if they became pregnant.
