In The Chief Constable of the Bedfordshire Constabulary v Graham 26.9.01 EAT 1061/00, the EAT upholds an employment tribunal's decision that the Chief Constable discriminated indirectly against a female inspector on the grounds of her sex and marital status when he rescinded her appointment to the division commanded by her husband, a chief superintendent, on the grounds of a possible conflict of interest.
