The facts
Mrs Mughal was engaged by the Post Office on 28.10.74 as a trainee clerical officer for a trial period of one year. On engagement, she was told that she was on trial for a year and that during that period, her employment might be terminated by the appropriate period of notice should she prove unsatisfactory to the Post Office.
