Complaints under EEC law in respect of discriminatory retirement prior to 1986 had to be brought within three months of implementation of the Sex Discrimination Act 1986, rules a Liverpool industrial tribunal (Chair: E T Connolly) in Kingsbery v Southport & Formby NHS Trust.
Mrs Kingsbery was dismissed on 31 October 1984 when she reached the compulsory retirement age of 60 then in force for women.
