FW Farnsworth Ltd v McCoid [1998] IRLR 362 EAT (0 other reports)

Removal of a shop steward's accreditation under a recognition agreement was action short of dismissal taken against him "as an individual", according to the EAT in FW Farnsworth Ltd v McCoid [1998] IRLR 363, thereby allowing him to claim that the action was taken for the purpose of preventing or deterring him from taking part in trade union activities or penalising him for doing so.

Mr McCoid was employed as a factory operative and was also a Transport and General Workers' Union shop steward.
