An unfairly dismissed employee who was subsequently asked by his employer to come in and discuss the situation surrounding his dismissal did not unreasonably refuse an "offer" of reinstatement, holds the EAT in McDonald v Capital Coaches Ltd. Consequently, the industrial tribunal had not been entitled to reduce the complainant's basic award to nil.
