An employee who was subject to disciplinary action for refusing to comply with an instruction which in effect was an instruction not to complain any more under the Race Relations Act 1976, was unlawfully victimised, rules a London North industrial tribunal (Chair: P R K Menon) in Odedra v (1) London Borough of Hackney and (2) Bayliss.

Ms Odedra began her employment with Hackney Council in December 1985 as a rent recovery officer.
