In McClenaghan and Rice v British Shoe Corporation Ltd a Belfast industrial tribunal (Chair: E McBride) has held that it was discriminatory not to allow women access to sick leave and sick pay when they were unable to return to work due to illness after the expiry of their statutory maternity leave.
