Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016 come into force

Implementation date: 1 July 2016

The Regulations implement the Electromagnetic Fields Directive (2013/35/EU). The Regulations require employers to: assess and limit the levels of electromagnetic fields to which their workers are exposed; minimize the risks to workers arising from electromagnetic field exposure; provide information and training to employees likely to be exposed to electromagnetic fields; and provide medical examinations to employees experiencing high exposure to electromagnetic fields or experiencing health effects related to electromagnetic fields.

The HSE has published A guide to the Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016 to help organisations understand what they need to do to comply with the Regulations.
