Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Directions 2010 come into force
Implementation date: 1 January 2011
The Directions prescribe that office holders who are subject to Common Tenure under the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Measure 2009 and the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Regulations 2009, are entitled to maternity, paternity, parental, and adoption leave under the Employment Rights Act 1996. Office holders may make a request for time off work or adjustment to their duties for the purpose of caring for a dependant. The Directions can be viewed on the UK legislation website.
