Employers not required to publish slavery statement for financial year ending before 31 March 2016

The requirement to publish a slavery or human trafficking statement does not apply where a company's financial year ends before 31 March 2016.

Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires large companies with a total turnover of at least £36 million per year, supplying goods or services, to publish information for each financial year showing what steps they have taken to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in their business or supply chains, or a statement that they have taken no such steps.
