Employment Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 (Commencement No.1, Transitional Provisions and Savings) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011 comes into force

Implementation date: 3 April 2011

The Order brings into force various sections of the Employment Act (Northern Ireland) 2011, including the repeal of the statutory grievance procedure. It implements the provisions setting out the consequences of a failure to comply with a relevant code of practice dealing with workplace grievance, and those extending the discretion of the Labour Relations Agency to offer its conciliation service prior to a tribunal claim. The Order contains transitional provisions, which set out when the statutory grievance procedure continues to apply. The Order can be viewed on the UK legislation website.
