Employment and Support Allowance Regulations 2013 come into force

Implementation date: 29 April 2013

The Regulations make rules in relation to the new benefit of employment and support allowance, which replaces the existing benefit of the same name. The new benefit is for people who have a health condition or disability that limits their ability to work, and people will be able to claim it only where they have made sufficient national insurance contributions. The Regulations can be viewed on the UK legislation website.
