Equal Pay Act 1970 (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 come into force

Implementation date: 3 April 2005

The Equal Pay Act 1970 requires the tribunal to follow a particular procedure when determining proceedings where there is a question as to whether the claimant and comparator are doing work of equal value. These Regulations alter the procedure for such claims by allowing the tribunal to choose to determine the question of equal value itself or to appoint an independent expert to prepare a report on that question. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
