Financial assistance for employers of reservists revised

The Reserve Forces (Call-out and Recall) (Financial Assistance) Regulations 2005 (SI 2005/859), which provide financial assistance to employers whose employees are absent due to mobilised service, are amended. The Reserve Forces (Payments to Employers and Partners) Regulations 2014 (SI 2014/2410) provide a new government scheme for making payments to employers of employees and apprentices, and business partners, called out on service. The scheme is only available to SMEs, employing not more than 250 employees, with an annual turnover of less than £25.9m, and partnerships meeting the same criteria. It does not include public authorities. An employer's payment of up to £500 per reservist per month based on 35 hours a week or more is available.
