Independent Health Care (Wales) Regulations 2011 come into force

The Regulations are made under the Care Standards Act 2011, which provides for the registration and inspection of establishments and agencies. The Regulations prescribe standards that apply to independent hospitals, clinics and medical agencies in Wales, including: the requirement for a written statement of the policy and procedure to be applied to identify, assess and manage risks associated with the operation of the establishment to employees, and to recruit, induct and retain employees; and the requirement to give employees appropriate training, supervision and appraisal, and a job description.
