Royal Air Force Terms of Service (Amendment) Regulations 2003 come into force

The Regulations amend the Royal Air Force Terms of Service Regulations 1985. Under the Royal Air Force Terms of Service Regulations 1985, regulation 15 a person who is enlisted in the Royal Air Force on an engagement to complete 22 years of service may apply to continue in service after the date on which his enlisted term would otherwise expire. Under the same regulation, that person may make his application to continue in service at any time within the 12 months before the date on which his enlisted term would otherwise expire. These regulations amend the principal Regulations by extending the period during which such an application may be made to the three years before the date on which his enlisted term would otherwise expire (or such shorter period as remains at the time these regulations come into force).
