Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Controlled Activity and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2010 come into force

These Regulations specify the circumstances in which employers may permit individuals, who are not already engaged in work for the employer which is a controlled activity, to undertake work in England which is a controlled activity. The employer will either have to be satisfied that the individual is not on a barred list nor a list which predates the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 pending migration into a barred list, or have seen an enhanced criminal record certificate or a notification that the individual is not on such a list issued within the previous 90 days.
