Social Security Benefits Up-rating Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 come into force

Implementation date: 9 April 2012

The Regulations restrict the application of the increases set out in the Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order (Northern Ireland) 2012 (SR 2012/116) where the beneficiary does not reside in Great Britain. They also prescribe that, where a question arises about the effect of the Order on a benefit already in payment, the altered rates will not apply until that question is determined in accordance with the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 (SR 1998/1506). The Regulations can be viewed on the UK legislation website.
