Standards Committee (England) Regulations 2008 come into force

The Regulations make provision for the size, composition and constitution of local government standards committees and sub-committees, and set out how misconduct allegations against members of local authorities in England are to be dealt with. Standards committees, on commencement of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, section 185, assess all allegations of misconduct against members of their authorities and members of any parish councils for which they are responsible.
