Teachers' Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 2004 come into force

Implementation date: 31 March 2004

The Regulations amend the Teachers' Pensions Regulations 1997, which are the basis upon which the Teachers' Pension Scheme operates. They regularise retrospectively the pension position of certain non-teaching staff who, although ineligible for membership, have been contributing to the Scheme. They also enable periods of paternity and adoption leave to be treated in the same way as periods of maternity leave for these purposes. The Regulations can be viewed on the OPSI website.
