Introduction

All management is performance management. The central role of a manager is to harness the resources at their disposal to achieve business aims. These aims can be met only if the individuals working towards them are working effectively and competently. A key part of your role as manager is to get the best out of the people in your team and that means addressing any problems with the way in which individual members of that team are working.
