Change of tack on pensions tax relief for high earners
The coalition Government's first Budget has announced the decision to scrap the new rules, effective from April 2011, restricting tax relief on pension contributions for high earners. These were expected to raise £3.5 billion of revenue and had been heavily criticised on the grounds of their complexity.
