Defence Committee slams "unfair" pension proposals

An influentialHouse of Commons select committee has criticised* proposals for new pension arrangements for the armed forces contained in a Bill currently before parliament.

Bruce George MP, who chairs the Defence Committee, criticised the measures to be introduced in the Armed Forces (Pensions and Compensation) Bill (See New Armed Forces Pension Scheme outlined ), adding that his committee had published a report on the issue "with some urgency" so that parliament could be aware of the committee's concerns before it began considering the legislation.
