Gangmasters to be licensed in 2005

A Bill designed to stop the exploitation of agricultural workers by gangmasters received royal assent and became law on 8 July 2004.

Labour MP Jim Sheridan introduced a Private Member's Bill into the House of Commons, requiring gangmasters - who supply agricultural labourers - to be registered and licensed.
