Ireland: Consultation Directive deadline missed

Ireland has not met the deadline of 23 March 2005 for implementing the EU information and consultation Directive and it now looks likely that the earliest date for transposition will be in the autumn.

The EU Directive 2002/14/EC on establishing a general framework for informing and consulting employees in the European Community was adopted in February 2002 and published in the Official Journal on 23 March 2002 (EC: New working time and consultation Directives in force).
