Sickness absence and sick pay
The government has published the proposed statutory rates for maternity pay, paternity pay, shared parental pay, adoption pay, parental bereavement pay and sick pay from April 2021.
Employers in England face fines of up to £10,000 if they fail to prevent workers who should be self-isolating from going to the workplace.
Employers are now able to recover any coronavirus-related statutory sick pay (SSP), with HM Revenue & Customs accepting applications from today.
