Coronavirus and return-to-work planning: Letter to employee who refuses, or is reluctant, to return to work

Original author: Stephen Simpson

When to use this model return-to-work planning letter

Use this model letter to send to an employee who is refusing, or is reluctant, to attend work, for example when you have asked them to return to a reopened workplace.

Warning: This letter addresses a worker's general concerns about attending the workplace, for example because they are worried about catching COVID-19 or unimpressed with their employer's safe-working adaptations. Employers should consult individually with workers with underlying health conditions and workers in other vulnerable groups, such as pregnant workers, about potential adaptations to their role.
