When to use this model lay-off letter
Use this model HR letter to lay off an employee, where there is a contractual right to do this.
Warning: A "lay-off" is not the same as "furloughing". For employers that are making use of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, furloughing the employee may be an alternative - see Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
