When to use this model short-time working letter

Use this model HR letter to place an employee on short-time working, where there is a contractual right to do this.

Warning: "Short-time working" is not the same as "flexible furloughing". For employers that are making use of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, furloughing the employee on a flexible part-time basis may be an alternative - see Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
