When to use this model lay-off letter

Use this model HR letter to invite affected employees to a meeting to set out lay-off plans, where there is a contractual right to lay off.

Warning: A "lay-off" is not the same as "furloughing". For employers that are making use of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, furloughing the employee may be an alternative - see Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
