Letter seeking an employee's agreement to short-time working (no contractual right to place on short time working - express consent necessary)
Author: Darren Newman
When to use this model short-time working letter
Use this model HR letter to seek an employee's express agreement to short-time working, where there is no contractual right to place an employee on short-time working.
Warning: "Short-time working" is not the same as "flexible furloughing". For employers that are making use of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, furloughing the employee on a flexible part-time basis may be an alternative - see Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
