Zeba SayedFrom 6 April 2024, the right to be offered suitable alternative employment in a redundancy situation extends to pregnant employees and employees who have returned to work after a period of maternity, adoption or shared parental leave. Employers considering redundancy should carefully evaluate the implications of this new protection and be prepared to tackle any issues that may arise as a result. Our Redundancy policy has been updated to reflect the extension of this special right for new and expectant parents.
