Statutory shared parental pay

An employee can receive statutory shared parental pay for a maximum of 39 weeks, minus the number of weeks for which statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance is payable, up to when the mother returns to work or curtails their statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance period, and the number of weeks of statutory shared parental pay that the other parent takes.

The employee's average weekly earnings must be equal to or more than the lower earnings limit.
