The employer should take steps at an early stage where issues arise relating to an employee's timekeeping, for example if the employee regularly arrives at work late or overstays their breaks.
It may be possible to resolve the issue by raising it informally with the employee. If not, it may be appropriate to commence disciplinary proceedings.
Employers should aim to be consistent in how they deal with employees' poor timekeeping.
