Where, following a performance dismissal hearing, the employer decides that the employee's performance merits dismissal, it should inform the employee of this, and confirm it in writing, as soon as possible after the hearing.
The employee should be given the right to appeal the decision.
The employer should consider if it would be appropriate to pay the employee in lieu of notice.
