Ensure that workers are receiving the minimum rest breaks provided for by the Working Time Regulations 1998
Key points
The Working Time Regulations 1998 set out the minimum length of rest breaks to which workers are entitled during a working day.
Workers in some sectors, for example some mobile workers in the civil aviation sector, are excluded from the right to a minimum rest break under the Regulations.
There are a number of other circumstances in which the right does not apply, for example where the worker's activities involve the need for continuity of service or production.
