Hold an appeal hearing regarding the refusal of a statutory request in relation to study or training
Key points
Where possible the appeal should be heard by a different person from the one who dealt with the request in relation to study or training in the first instance.
Where the employee has chosen to be accompanied at the appeal hearing by a fellow worker, legislation specifies what the companion is and is not permitted to do at the hearing.
