Invite an employee to a meeting to discuss their grievance
Key points
If an employee raises a formal grievance, the employer should invite them to a grievance meeting.
The invitation should set out the time, date and location of the meeting and could provide other information such as an explanation of the format that the meeting will take, so that the employee knows what to expect.
The invitation should inform the employee that they have the right to be accompanied at the meeting and set out who can be chosen as a companion.
