Invite the employee to a meeting to discuss a statutory request in relation to study or training
Key points
Where an employee makes a statutory request in relation to study or training, the employer must generally hold a meeting with the employee within 28 days of receiving the application.
The time limit can be extended by agreement, or is extended automatically in certain circumstances.
The letter inviting the employee to the meeting should give details of their right to be accompanied at the meeting.
