Take appropriate action to ensure retention of a skilled worker sponsor licence
Key points
An employer must have a valid sponsor licence and certificates of sponsorship for foreign nationals whom it employs under the points-based system.
Following issue of a licence, the Home Office can pay visits, which are often unannounced, to the employer to check that it is maintaining its systems and processes and complying with its sponsor duties in full.
The employer should therefore keep its processes and systems under review to avoid the revocation of the licence.
