Are employers legally obliged to provide training aside from health and safety training?

No, employers are under no strict legal obligation to supply occupational or work-related training designed to enhance employees' qualifications and skills. However, if an employer has 250 or more employees, its employees have the right to make a request in relation to study or training, once they have been employed continuously by the employer for at least 26 weeks. The employer can refuse the request only on specified grounds.
