EU Commission: Directives on non-EU labour migration proposed

In October 2007, the European Commission issued proposals for two EU Directives on the employment of migrant workers from outside the EU. The first proposes a uniform application procedure for migrants wanting to work and live in the EU, and a common set of rights for legally resident immigrant workers.
