International: European unions respond to Opel/Vauxhall restructuring

Following the announcement of 8,300 job losses across Europe, trade unions represented at Opel/Vauxhall agreed in February 2010 on a joint response to the company's restructuring initiative and accused management of failing to provide proper information and consultation.

General Motors, the US-based automotive multinational, announced in November 2009 that it had reversed a previous plan to sell off much of its European division.
