Police Service of Northern Ireland (Amendment) Regulations 2004 come into force

The Regulations amend the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Full-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Regulations 1996 in relation to increasing the amount of hours between the end of a member's daily period of duty and the start of the next one from 8 hours to 11 hours. The Regulations also extend the disregard of casual overtime to time off as well as paid overtime compensation and allow for members who joined or rejoined the force on or after 1 September 1994 from the British Transport Police to reckon this service for the purpose of pay.
