Repeal of the dispute resolution procedures
Implementation date: 6 April 2009
The Employment Act 2008 (Commencement
No.1 and Transitional Provisions and Savings) Order 2008 brings into force sections 1 to 7 and schedule 1, part 1 of the Employment
Act 2008. These parts of the Act repeal
the statutory dispute resolution procedures set out in sections 29 to 33 and schedules 2 to 4 of the Employment Act 2002. The Order also brings into effect the repeal of section 98A of the Employment Rights
Act 1996, returning the law on unfair dismissal to the position
prior to the dispute resolution procedures coming into force in October 2004. The Order and the Act can be viewed on the OPSI website.
