Specific duties to support the general equality duty come into force in Scotland

The Equality Act 2010 creates a general public sector equality duty, and enables specific duties to be created to help public bodies meet the requirements of the general duty. The Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 prescribe the specific duties that Scottish public authorities are required to meet.
