Steps to Work (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009 comes into force

Implementation date: 5 October 2009

The Order provides that a person using facilities under the steps to work programme, and receiving or entitled to receive a training allowance in connection with the use of those facilities, shall not be treated as being in employment. Rather, that person shall be treated, for certain purposes, as participating in training under s.1 of the Employment and Training Act (Northern Ireland) 1950.
