Spain: Job cuts and pay moderation agreed at Opel

Unions and management at the Opel plant in Figueruelas, Spain agreed in March 2010 on the "socially responsible" implementation of 900 planned job cuts, and also signed a four-year pay moderation deal.

On 9 February 2010, Opel/Vauxhall, the European division of General Motors - the US-based automotive multinational - announced a major Europe-wide restructuring plan, which will cut production capacity by 20%.
